In 2016, it was the 15th Brazilian participation at Medica. The Brazilian pavilion had 40 companies, all national manufacturers from health devices. The size of Brazil’s area at the trade show was over 624 sqm. Check some important numbers about Brazilian Health Devices industry and participation at Medica 2016:

- Pavilion dedicated to Laboratory companies at Hall 3 and to Orthopedics companies, for the third time, at Hall 4.

- Exclusive press office of the Brazilian pavilion that performed a wide marketing campaign before and during the fair.

- Brazilian Happy Hour, held on the second day of show (Nov. 15th) with typical Brazilian food and beverage, besides live music. The event was hosted by Brazilian Health Devices to international clients and authorities in health care worldwide. 300 guests were in the event. In 2016, we celebrated 15 years at MEDICA.

- The 40 companies at Brazilian pavilion had near to 2.400 contacts with potential buyers from 121 countries.

- Closed deals at Brazilian pavilion amount more than US$ 504.000,00 .

- Business expectation after the show was US$ 12 million.

- A market and image research held during the 4 days of exhibition showed that 96% of visitors of Brazilian pavilion consider Brazil as a global player in health care industry. 86% of this visitors classified Brazilian products as of high quality / innovation & technology.

- The same market and image research shows that the main attributes of Brazil’s health devices industry are competitive prices, technology and quality and commercial flexibility.

- Regarding health care in Brazil, the country has more than 6.800 hospitals and more than 458,000 beds.

- Health care represents 8.8% of GDP and employs 10% of the national workforce.

- SUS – Unified Health System (from the government), which assists 3.2 billion of outpatient procedures, besides all clinics. Responsible for 24,000 transplants annually.

- 92% of the companies are made up of 100% national capital.

- Brazilian companies are able to meet 95% of a hospital’s demand.

- Brazilian companies export to over 180 countries.

- High potential for technological development.

- Rigorous regulatory system implemented by the Brazilian Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA).
